Prakash Javadekar | IITs and IIMs to assist in the accreditation of the educational institutes

On Saturday, Prakah Javadekar said that to speed up the process of assessment and accreditation of the higher educational institutes the government is roping in IITs and IIMs which will assist the official agencies such as NAAC and NBA in the same. He also said that National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) will be expanded and premier institutes -- IITs and IIMs -- can also join the hands to fast track the entire process. At present only 15 percent of the higher education institute in the nation are accredited. “We have asked IITs and IIMs to come together and create an agency which we can use to expedite the process of accreditation,” the minister told reporters. He added “accreditation from now onwards will be based on “learning outcome” and quality of education should be the key parameter for determining the standard of an institute.” Speaking at the event the minister said that 80 percent of the weight will given to the learning outcomes and peer reviews for the accreditation and the physical verification of the campuses will be done with the help of satellites. “An institute which maintains quality will only survive and those who fail to do so will be out of business,” he said.

ICAR AIEEA results declared | Counseling from September 10

The results of the AIEEA exam 2018 have been declared by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR, New Delhi). Candidates who had appeared for the exams can visit the official website -- icarexam.net to check their respective results. Originally, the results were scheduled to released on August 30, however, the Kerala High Court, on August 31, issued a stayed order because the candidates from Kerala could not appear for the exam due to floods. The re-exam was held on August 18 and 19. The petitioner submitted before the high court that ICAR even ignored the appeal by the state government and conducted the exam on the prescribed dates in various institutes including Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT).

TS SET 2018 exam results declared

The results of the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS SET) have been declared. All the candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their respective results by visiting the official website -- http://www.telanganaset.org. The exam was conducted on July 15 from 10 am to 1:15 pm and more than 50,000 candidates appeared for the exam. This year, the exam was conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education Office. To pass the exam, candidates are required to score at lest percent marks (35 per cent for reserved categories). Paper 1 had 50 objective questions carrying 2 marks which tested the candidate’s reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper 2 had 100 objective questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. IIM-A introduced new course and Pranab Mukherjee will be the lecturer

Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has introduced a new course “Public Policy for Inclusive Development of India”. Students studying PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management), FABM (Food and Agri-Business Management) and PGPX (Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives) at IIM-A will attend the classes of the course. The faculty for the course will be the former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, who will teach the students for 12 out of 22 sessions. Prof. Vijaya Sherry Chand, Chairperson of JSW School of Public Policy and Prof. Anil Gupta will handle rest of the sessions of the course. The new course aims to draw on the experiences of Shri Pranab Mukherjee and reflect on the theory and practice of public policy for the complete development of India. The students will get the opportunity to learn from the deep experiences of the former President of the India. He will be delivering the lectures on the following themes: Constitutional Provisions for Socio-economic Inclusivity: Theory and Parliamentary PracticePolicy and Institutional Intervention for Financial Inclusion: A Legacy to be Built UponArticulating Policy and Institutional Agenda for Future Transformation of India Talking about this special course, Prof. Vijaya Sherry Chand said, “Listening to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, our students should develop a better understanding of the politics of inclusive development.”

CTET 2018 exam | Link for making corrections in the form is now active

The application form correction link for the CETE 2018 exam is now active. All the applicants who have made errors while filling the application form can now visit the official website -- ctet.nic.in and rectify their errors. The exams is conducted by the CBSE to select the eligible applicants for the posts of teachers for class I to VIII. Applicant who will score 60 percent or more in the exam will be considered as pass. There is a relaxation of 5 percent in the passing marks for the candidates belonging to reserved categories. The marks obtained in the CTET exam are valid for a period of seven years from the day of declaration of the results. Exam pattern Paper 1 will be for the candidates who wish to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 will be for the candidates who wish to be a teacher for class 6 to 8. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked in the exam and only one alternative will be correct. Each correct answer will carry one positive mark and there will be no negative marking for the wrong answers.

With AI slowly entering our life and company’s businesses it is expected that the new IT field will have a positive impact on the employment scenario as it will create new job profiles besides enhancing employee engagement, a report said on September 6. The report was published by the ‘Tata Communications’ and is based on the inputs from 120 global business leaders. According to the report, the AI will even further diversify the human thinking and not replace it. According to the statistics provided by the report: 90 percent of the leaders agree that cognitive diversity is very important for the effective management75 percent of the leaders believe that new job profiles will emerge with more advancements in the field93 percent believes that AI will enhance the decision making "While AI will replace some tasks, it will also create new ways of working, new jobs and new roles in companies. AI will also help people, as well as organizations, become more productive. It's not man vs machine, rather man and machine working together," Tata Communications CEO and MD Vinod Kumar told PTI. As the AI advances it will free the employees from the repetitive and mundane tasks and help them focus more on the innovation and communication with the peers. "Work will move from being task-based to strategic, enabling workers to enhance their curiosity and creative thinking," it added. Professor Ken Goldberg, a leading AI researcher at UC Berkeley said “there is fear now that AI will surpass human thinking and that machines are superior to humans. Robots and AI are not going to take away this creative, insightful, an empathetic aspect of almost every job”

Check now: SCERT Odisha 2018 results declared

The State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT), Odisha has declared the results of SCERT 2018 exams on their official website -- samsodisha.gov.in. All the candidates who have appeared for the exam for the various posts of teachers can now visit the official website and check their respective results. The exams were conducted from August 7 to August 14, 2018. The SCERT exam is conducted by SAMS Odisha for admission to different teachers’ courses such as D.El.Ed, B.Ed, B.P.Ed, B.H.Ed, M.Ed, and M.Phil (education) in the state of Odisha.
