Online application date for TS DEECET 2019 extended; Apply now

The online application date for the Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test (DEECET) 2019 has been extended. Candidates who have not applied for the exam but wish to can do the same now as last date to submit the online application has been shifted to April 15, 2019. The papers will be conducted by the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) of Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Hyderabad, Havelighanapur, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Nalgonda. The exams will be conducted in Telugu, English and Urdu mediums for total marks of 100. In the exam questions will be asked on general knowledge, general English, general Urdu/Telugu, mathematics, physical sciences, biological studies and social sciences. KVS registration process for classes 2 to 11 begins today; Know how to apply

The online admission process for classes 1 through 12 for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has begun from April 2, 2019. The online registration window will remain open until April 9 and candidates can apply by visiting the official website- kvsangathan.nic.in. The admission process for class 11 will only begin after the results of class 10 have been declared. The first admission list for class 12 will be announced on April 12, 2019 and students selected in the merit list will have to complete the admission formalities until April 20, 2019. The admission process for class 2 will close on April 30, 2019. Last year, for 1 lakh seats more than 6 lakh candidates applied for admissions. Due to the online admission process, KVS had released the admission list on time and it is present on the website of the individual school. There are a total of 1137 KVs across the country and students are shortlisted on the basis of priority category.

Delhi Government’s pilot test of Entrepreneurship curriculum begins at 24 schools

On Monday, the Delhi Government introduced its Entrepreneurship curriculum as a pilot project in 24 schools with the beginning of academic session 2019-20. The curriculum was first discussed by the Education Minister Manish Sisodia in 2018. At that time he had said that the main aim of the curriculum inculcate entrepreneurial mindset among the students which will help them become job creators instead of job seekers. The program will be introduced in July in all the state-run schools among the students studying in classes IX to XII. As of now, it has been launched as a pilot project in only 24 schools among the students of classes IX, X and XII. The pilot classes will be held during the first 40 minutes of the school day until May 10 where students will be introduced to the concepts of entrepreneurship. “We spent some time explaining the programme to students. I told them that everybody, after leaving school, wants to do something with their lives. But they need to identify themselves — their strengths and weaknesses — first,” said Dhanna Upadhyay, a teacher at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Moti Bagh. According to Ashok Kumar Tiwari, a mentor teacher advising NCERT in the preparation of curriculum, the first five minutes will comprise of ‘mindfulness’ activity which will help students build focus. “In the second activity, they were asked how they related to everyday objects around them. They were asked to speak of kitchen utensils as metaphors for themselves. One said that her friends call her a ‘sharp knifeʼ because she is sharp with her responses. Another said she relates to a tawa because it gets heated up quickly,” he said. “We will… collect feedback from the teachers conducting them, which we will build into our curriculum development before the final launch in July,” said Tiwari.

Qualifying candidates will be eligible to seek admissions in Engineering/Technology based Diploma Courses & Occupational Courses, Diploma Course in Modern Office Practice–English / Hindi, Diploma Course in Pharmacy. Indian Degrees to get equivalent recognition in the UAE

Certain Indian degrees which will meet predefined criteria will be considered equivalent to UAE degrees. The new move was announced by the UAE government which comes as a great relief to the expats who have to face difficulties while finding jobs in Gulf countries. Indian Ambassador Navdeep Singh Suri had called the UAE Education Minister Hussain Bin Ibrahim and discussed the problems faced by the Indian national searching jobs in the Gulf countries due to lack of clarity over internal/external marks, a press release issued by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said. "The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi is happy to inform the Indian community that following the above discussions, the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates notified that it has no objection to equivalence those degrees that meet all other certificate equivalency criteria," it stated. "Those applications that have been rejected previously, will be reviewed and equivalency letters would be issued after meeting all other certificate equivalency conditions," it added. UAE’s Ministry of Education informed the Indian officials that they are working on such applications. The Indian community is the largest expatriate community in the UAE constituting 30 percent of the total population of the Gulf country.

Apply now: Registration for ICAR’s Agricultural Entrance Test begins

Online registrations for the ICAR’s (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) Agricultural Entrance has begun. This year the exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is scheduled to be held on July 1. Based on the scores obtained by the candidates they will be admitted to various UG and PG courses offered by the ICAR. Through the NTA ICAR AIEEA 2019 scores students will be awarded JRF, SRF in various agricultural universities. Before registering for the exam, candidates are requested to refer to the detailed notification available on the ntaicar.nic.in. The last date of submitting the application form is April 30 and the admit cards for the same will be released on June 5. The result of the exam will be released on July 17, 2019. 15 percent of the total seats in the Agricultural Universities will be filled through the exam. However; 100 % seats in Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, National Dairy Research Institute, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University will be filled through the exam. "Candidates qualified for counselling will be considered for allocation of subject and the Agricultural University. There is no provision of direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Bachelor degree programme without qualifying in ICAR-AIEEA (UG)," reads the exam notice.
